Straight on the rocks (with ice) is a classic serving. If you want something exotic try a shooter mixed with chocolate milk. Or there's the same or a mixer of Baileys with a dash of milk and rasberry syrup. It also goes well with other milk based alcohols such as Dooleys or Tia Maria. Avoid anything with a lot of weight to it that won't mix well, straight spirits in small amounts is fine but anything heavier like fruit juices, coke or fizzy drinks can't be mixed with it, it congeals and is horrible. Really you'll wanna keep it simple. try a touch of rum, not much but it gives it a nice kick.

I use it all the time especially before I go to bed. It helps diminish fine lines and wrinkles smooths them out. it gives you a youthful glow on your skin you'll love the results but you probably would have to go through the whole jar to see results. I like to use the one without perfume because there's some with it and that just irritates my skin. My skin is real fine and thin real delicate and I'm noticing a nice firm tone to it, I love it I won't stop using it and it's never to early or to late to use it.

The reason why its not suitable for the face its because its too greasy and may therefore block the pores x also your face skin is much more sensitive than your bodys skin, so the sun cream may not have all the suitable properties to protect the face skin x


so you should have a sun cream suitable for the face and body, but i think if you are able to find a sun cream that is non-comedogenic (wont block pores) and is grease free, then you should just use that for both face and body x there is no point in spending lots of money in two sun creams unless you have money to spend lol x

I narrowed it down based on ingredients--I'm looking for good ingredients like Shea butter, cocoa butter, natural oils, aloe, etc.





If anyone could offer any suggestions or personal stories about any of these, that would be great. The more detailed, the better.





Although I'd prefer to choose between the brands I've listed, if you want to suggest something else, fine. But if you recommend something else, it should be:





-Available in Walmart/Kmart/a drugstore. I'm not ordering online, and I'm not going to any special stores.





-Relatively inexpensive. I'm actually wavering on Aveeno, due to the price.

i would go with aveeno which is amazing , its not liquidy which i like and it makes skin so soft and NOT dry :)


if aveeno is a tad bit expensive then i would go with lubriderm which is also AMAZING , id say it has the same results has aveeno if not better;)


now for vaseline , i hope your not talking about the petroleum jelly vaseline , bcz that willl clog your pores like no tomorow ! :P but if its a body lotion with no petroleum jelly then it might work ;)





for curel , i think curel is great, its suggested by dermotoligists and it hydrates and moisturizes the skin wonderfullly , but it doesnt make it the smoothest and softest ;)





i would suggest just buying a bottle of lubriderm curel , and vaseline ( smallest bottle ) and try each one on a part of the body and then compare results , this would be the best idea bcz everyone has different skin types so you cant be sure if you will have the same results has otheers, you can try asking for samples at a drugstoree of those lotions and test them that way :)

if it is a matter of saving, u can , but preferably it is batter if you can use facial SPF cream
Definitely apply a seperate one for your face. Lotions and things that are used on faces are a lot more gentle so that you dont break out or get dry skin.

The main differences are the oils used and fragrances. Face creams have lighter oils as to not block pores and cause break out and less or no fragrance. there is a pretty big difference but you can use body lotion. Ya see body lotion contains a lot of oils to make your skin soft which is great accept that the oils can block your pores and make you break out, or give you really bad black heads. Where as face creams are made specifically for faces (obviously) so it doesn't contain as many if any oils so it is better for your face. It will not harm you to use it though.
body lotions has many different oils that can irritate your skin. it also clogs your pores in return you will get acne if you keep using body lotion on your face. face lotions dont have the same oils because face lotions dont have scents. so not many oils in it.
face cream is more gentle.

Yes, you can use the same lotion for both, but if you need special attention just for your feet,you can certain creams that will target the areas you want to work on. Same goes with the hands and the rest of the body but it is really up to you. I would buy a lotion that specifically says ';Body Lotion';.


I use Mario Badescu Moisturizing Apricot Body Lotion.


Mario Badescu products are pricey but good.

Be careful what you apply to the eye area as the skin is delicate. I have not used this but it is supposed to fade the dark circles away. They are usually there because of either, tiredness, heredity, or maybe kidney problems. I used eye gel under the eyes once but they puffed up and looked worse. You can't get this stuff at the Body Shop, but I'm not sure about superdrug (we don't have those here) if it's like a regular drugstore, then you probably should be able to. I've come up with a cheaper version of Proactiv which has helped me a lot. You need to get:





1. a gentle cleanser (like Cetaphil or Spectro jel)


2. a good toner/astringent (like Clean %26amp; Clear)


3. a 2.5%-5% benzoyl peroxide cream (Spectro vanishing cream or Clean %26amp; Clear persa-gel 5) C%26amp;C 10 is available but that can seriously irritate your skin. Try to get something for ';sensitive skin'; to reduce the risk of allergies or irritation.


4. a gentle facial moisturizer (like Moisturel - it's important that the moisturizer you use isn't oily or heavy, it has to be for sensitive skin and quick absorbing and light)





When you've gone through the first 2 steps of cleansing your face and applying the toner, make sure your fingertips are clean and put a drop (size of a small pea) of the benzoyl cream and a drop of the moisturizer on your fingertip and mix together. Apply to your entire face and gently massage in. Do this everyday (once or twice) and you should see results in 2 weeks if not sooner. You may find that you get a few more minor pimples when you first start using it, but that's just the dormant ones coming to the surface. If you find your face gets too dry, try using bit more lotion than the benzoyl cream, OR apply more moisturizer afterwards. I am a huge fan of the body shop products, but a cream is not what you need. the best way would be to use the Tea Tree line. I would recomend useing a face wash from that line, Toner, Scrub, and a mask from that line.

You shouldn't use a cream, you should use a combination of washing and moisturising. Use Clearasil Antibacterial wash (the blue one in the clear bottle). Wash your face with that then rinse with ice cold water to close your pores. Then moisturise. Problem solved.

I have a trick for getting a really close shave for body hair which is use a really greasy lotion, like vaseline intensive care UNDER a layer of shaving cream. Then wash it all off with soap and water and then moisturize your skin. I have super sensitive skin and this does the best job for me.

I presume that you are shaving your body hair either to swim or bike competitevly. In any event, some of the above suggestions have merit, but I prefer to use a razor with four blades or more. 1 cup sugar


Half a lemon for the juice


1/4 cup honey


A little bit of Molasses if you have any like a drizzle


Cornstarch (to powder with for tautness making it more effective)

Cotton fabric (any old thing you can find or buy some strips at a store)


Mix lemon, sugar, and honey in a bowl. Microwave on high for about 2-3 minutes, until it bubbles into a smooth consistency. I find this a lot simpler then turning on the stove, but it would be safer if you watched over the heat on the stove. If you use the stove use LOW heat. Now move away from the mixture and go do something while it cools a little down so you can touch it safely. A little bit warmer though is better though to use. Microwave it for 20 seconds if you find the need to. The NADS commercial said re heating isn鈥檛 necessary, but it鈥檚 no big deal doing so and I find it is necessary as all sugaring products do need just a little heating.





Make sure your legs or where ever you wish to place it is clean and dry. Then dust area with cornstarch so it鈥檚 more effective as it draws out oil. Spread a thin layer on your leg. Cover with a strip of fabric, and rubbing the strip the opposite way of hair growth, about 3 times.





Grab the fabric end and pull it off very quickly against the direction of the hair growth or the other way if you wish. It will hurt, but after awhile it鈥檚 a lot less painful. I鈥檓 sure you鈥檙e strong enough to withstand pain. Reheat the mix if it gets too hard to spread. This stores for a long time. I just use a vitamin E face cream container that鈥檚 plastic since that鈥檚 fairly big which costs only a buck at the dollar store. Just make sure it's clean and oil free. You could also use a glass jar as well.

Jergens Ultra Healing, or any of the Jergens lotions....Shea Butter, Age Defying, Skin Firming. My personal fave is the Age Defying one (which used to be called Multi-Vitamin). The skin firming is cool, but the bottle warns u not to be in the sun a lot if you use that one.


It's a good lotion that's not watered down, lasts pretty well all day and doesn't cost alot. It also doesn't leave you feeling greasy or slippery and has a light scent that doesn't clash w/ perfume, body sprays etc. You can find it anywhere lotion is sold but you can get a 22oz bottle for around $6 or so at Wal-Mart if you want to save money. As a black woman who is very very prone to visibly dry skin, this is one of the few lotions that I only have to use only once in the morning after showering and it lasts all day (except when I wash my hands of course). But this lotion is great for any skin tone. We keep a big bottle of it at my job and everybody loves it and uses it after they wash their hands. Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Butter Lotion. It moisturizes really really well and smells good, but the scent is not overpowering at all. I have horribly dry skin and that's what I use to help it.

Ingredients





1 cup sugar


Half a lemon for the juice


1/4 cup honey


A little bit of Molasses if you have any like a drizzle


Cornstarch (to powder with for tautness making it more effective)


Something to spread the mixture with like a tongue depressor, popsicle stick, cheese spreader or spatula.


Cotton fabric (any old thing you can find or buy some strips at a store)


Mix lemon, sugar, and honey in a bowl. Microwave on high for about 2-3 minutes, until it bubbles into a smooth consistency. I find this a lot simpler then turning on the stove, but it would be safer if you watched over the heat on the stove. If you use the stove use LOW heat. Now move away from the mixture and go do something while it cools a little down so you can touch it safely. A little bit warmer though is better though to use. Microwave it for 20 seconds if you find the need to. The NADS commercial said re heating isn鈥檛 necessary, but it鈥檚 no big deal doing so and I find it is necessary as all sugaring products do need just a little heating.





Make sure your legs or where ever you wish to place it is clean and dry. Then dust area with cornstarch so it鈥檚 more effective as it draws out oil. Spread a thin layer on your leg. Cover with a strip of fabric, and rubbing the strip the opposite way of hair growth, about 3 times.





Grab the fabric end and pull it off very quickly against the direction of the hair growth or the other way if you wish. It will hurt, but after awhile it鈥檚 a lot less painful. I鈥檓 sure you鈥檙e strong enough to withstand pain. Reheat the mix if it gets too hard to spread. This stores for a long time. I just use a vitamin E face cream container that鈥檚 plastic since that鈥檚 fairly big which costs only a buck at the dollar store. Just make sure it's clean and oil free. The cream seems to have the same effect as shaving, and the hair starts coming back in 2-3 days (even though most creams claim that hair won't grow for a long time). Well, as far as hair removal and things like that go, there isn't a lot of difference between girls and boys. The cream is designed specifically for the girl's needs, but the difference between girl and boy hair removal isn't that much. I don't think anything bad would happen. Just make sure to read the instructions.

It may not be strong enough to work. Men's hair is a coarser texture and therefore harder to remove. Either use more than one application of the cream or leave it on slightly longer.
It will work the same for men as it would for women but it may irritate your skin (many people are irritated to such hair remover products) so try a test area first so you don't end up all irritated is my suggestion

Olay is good. Dove is too. Dove smells better.


But if you want just a normal lotion with no fancy scent, go for store brand. I use Kroger brand lotion, it's cheaper and works just as well.
olay quench. i love anything olay, and they're a brand that i purchase over and over. i also use their body wash and other face products, and they all work really well
some really good lotion is udder cream, eucerin, and thick cocoa butter vaseline. They can get expensive but they all work really well.

I'm with Dahlia. I've have it and use it, but it does not really work for dark circles. I use it for the lines and puffiness around my eyes. Plus, it feels soothing at the end of a long day.

Its defenitely wax, because your hairs take longer to grow back and they don't grow back as thicker. Mind you because waxing can get a littele messier especially if your doing it yourself, it may be easier to use an epilator because you get the same results as you would waxing, although it hurts like hell the results are brilliant hair free for longer without the stubburn of the razor.
Shave or cream, doesnt last as long as waxing but is painless.
The best way, if you can afford it is laser treatment. It takes about 5 sessions to treat an area, but it doesn't come back!
Waxing is the best, as it plucks the hair from the root, it takes a lot longer to grow back, so you have to worry about it less often. Also, the longer you wax for, the less the hair grows back, so over the space of a few years, your hair will thin out. It does have its draw-backs too - It is best to get it done in a salon, as they will do a more thorough job that a DIY kit, but this can cost quite a bit of money. Obviously it hurts too - but only temporarily !


Shaving is the cheapest and quickest method, but has the oppoosite effect to waxing, as the more you shave, the more you need to as the hair grows back thicker, faster and darker...not attractive.

I use epilator, but sometimes feel too lazy and just shave - it's faster. also, using epilator for sensitive areas is painful and gives irritation, so I use shaving instead.


but the most effective way is lazer epilation, of course. though, it has its side effects, too.
Waxing is good - the effects last a few weeks but there is that annoying time inbetween when the hair is visible, but too short to get another wax! Also, don't go the week before your period - your pain threshold is lower that week and it will hurt.





Veet/Nair is good - soft and silky and lasts for a while.
Waxing is best also over aperiod of time the hair gets thinner and lighter.

i prefer waxing. it keeps the hair away for a reasonable period and the hair growth is also not that terribe as it is when you shave them. cream/ lotion (Nair/ veet) might not give you that good a result and is troublesome. and iit also darkens the skin. threading is okay for eyebrows but not for the whole body ..





however, i am now using a Braun epilator for removing hair. its working really fine for me .. i dont think i am going back to waxing.
try threading because it doesnt hurt that much and you can moisturise after it. its pulls the hairs out of it roots and its almost like waxing and lasts just as long. plus waxing leaves skin hard in my opinion.

If I am remembering correctly there's something like cocoa butter that I believe is used for stretch marks and scars, maybe that.

I don't think so. Face lotion is usually made specifically so that it won't clog your pores (look for something that says ';non-comodogenic'; or oil free).





They don't really make body lotion with those same ingredients though, so I think it could very easily clog your pores and/or cause you to break out. Plus like Arabesque mentioned, they have heavier fragrances and stuff that can cause irritation too.
I can only use the stuff for sensitive skin.

I wouldn't because it will probably cause breakouts. Also, I personally haven't had good experiences with St. Ives. It breaks me out wherever I put it. The soap seems to leave residue and the lotion seems to clog pores.

no.. the chemicals of a body lotion is not the same as the face lotion.. you have to use a mild moisturizer on ur face..

Shampoo/body wash isn't as good as shaving cream, but maybe of you try a shampoo that has conditioner in it might be better... Conditioner is the best to use, esp if you use it after shaving cream!
shaving cream is so much better. you get a closer shave so it lasts longer and u only need a tiny bit. you will actually save if u buy generic.
some body washes do work, i don't know about shampoo. or you could get waxed and save money since you'll be smooth for a much longer time than if ya shaved. :]
Just use water and mostoriser or wax every six weeks works out cheaper.

The strongest oral antihistamine is Benadryl in 50mg dosage. Some itches respond best to Atarax or Zyrtec which are other prescription antihistamines. The strongest OTC cortisone cream you can buy is 1% hydrocortisone. Whole body application of topical corticosteroids is not recommended unless your itching is due to certain types of cutaneous lymphoma. With an RX from your Dr you can buy much stronger topical corticosteroids but topical corticosteroids applied for long periods of time on large areas of skin increases the danger of potential corticosteroid-induced HPA axis suppression or Cushing's disease.





If you see a Dr about your itching then you can also find out a reason as to why you are itching. If the first Dr you see can't help with your itching then see a dermatologist. Pruritus (itching) is a difficult and often complex issue to treat so sometimes trial and error is necessary. My right ear canal itched almost constantly for five years until it was finally suggested to me that I try applying capsaicin ointment to the spot that itched. Itching all over? I guess an antihistamine should've helped if it were an allergic reaction. If it's not working, then I'd go back to the doctor, or talk to a pharmacist / chemist.





I doubt it's a great idea to apply a strong cream over your whole body without a doctor's approval -- with skin being the body's biggest organ, and able to absorb what's applied to it, you have to be cautious with large doses.





Also, itching can be a symptom of other non-allergy problems (like thyroid problems, just to name one). It's worth getting it checked out if current antihistamines aren't helping.

It doesn't matter. Cream is usually thicker than lotion but you can usually use it anywhere. I use hand cream on my face but if I have alot of lotion on my hands from applying to my legs and arms, I'll run my hands over my face too.
